My fd isn\'t well today! Driving on the dual carriage way all was well, then it wouldn\'t boost past 0.5 bar. Idle was rough and low and the fuel consumption increased dramatically! I think it\'s probably a vac leak as this would explain all three issues, as the car starts fine hot and cold and isn\'t using any water. Im hoping the engine is ok. Anyone have any ideas please, other than a vac leak???
See if vacuum is erratic at idle,if it is then maybe a seal seal has gone.
The vacuum reading should be steady.
If unsure then a compression test might be in order,at least then you\'ll eliminate the engine from the equation.

Carl
Thanks Carl. Vac is a little unsteady at idle according to my mechanical boost gauge. Ill do a compresion test one night this week and see where im at from there.
Also make sure your vac pipe to the MAP Sensor hasnt come off.
Not looking good Ive just done a compresion test on my own using a standard compresion tester. I tried to catch each rotor face judging by the puff coming from the other housing, then looking at the reading insted of keeping the button pressed in and watching the needle bounce. Readings were as follows rear 6,6,6 front 6,4,2 or possibly 6,4,4 either way its not good.
