Hi, i recently bought a set of front cusco\'s and tein\'s for the rear of my fc3s.Im interested in lowering it even more but im unsure how u go about this as the the bottom mount of the coilover is fixed so i assume u adjust them on the sprig perches??
Im aware u preload the spring with coil perches and raise them at the same time, but if i were to lower them on the perches would that mean if i went over a bump and the shock expands id be left with a gap in the spring as the damper would expand leaving the spring uncompressed and even lift off the perche\'s?? :2Confused
see, thats what i thought!!. Basically, you should have a 3rd lock nut (the weird ones which you need C-spanners for) at the bottom of the thread on the shock. If you undo this you should be able to twist the threaded part of the shock allowing it to move up or down in the the very bottom of the shock. The top two nuts should just be for setting the correct preload. But if you want to run your springs soft with a drop, like flick suggested, just use the top ones to lower it
yeah ive spoken to a guy in the know and he said u can run them with abit of \'droop\' and just zip tie the springs to the top collar, cap and the car will only leave the spring when jacked up.I live on bumpy roads so i won\'t need the springs preloaded.
