Title: Mk1 sizes
Post by: Don Pamponi on April 25, 2004, 05:02:32 PM
Hello chaps,

does anyone know the size of the origional wheels and tyres for a 1st gen 12A RX (1985).  I\'m trying to work out the correct rolling radius but the car came with 17s.

I know they were 14\'\', but how wide, and what profile tyres?

Can I get away with 215/45/16s rear and 205/45/16s front?  If so should the rims be 6.5 or 7\'\' wide?

Should 15 inchers be 6.5 or 7\'\' wide?

So many questions, all I want to do is buy some nice shiny wheels
aaaarrrggghhhhhh!!!

Thanks again Mike.

Blimee, so 7\'\' is pushing it I guess.  No wonder me steering is so heavy.

What does JJ mean, isn\'t it in inches?  Always wanted to know.

Ive got ET, and PCD down now.
