Title: r-magic lights??
Post by: leeincivic on July 31, 2009, 05:09:09 PM
eh up lads, i have bought some copy r-magic lights and they come with some of what look like fog lamps and also some rectangular lamps that look good to use as main beamers,

anyways question is is do ya think i can use these lights for driving lights? they are the projector type and seem to be these (http://www.ringautomotive.co.uk/product_detail.asp?prod=1064)

i wanna know if it will pass an mot due to the fact there is no cutoff at the top of the light beam?

cheers lee

As I own original non copy lights, RMAGIC use a PIAA Hid system, the rectangular light is the main driving light, when dipped the circular lights come on.

So you need to get the rectangular copy light you have working as the main driving lights

think i gave you some of those projector lights in the box lee they have a shield inside them that has a beam patern . failing that the "use of lights is for night time use only" if you tape them up and tell the tester its day time use only they ll ignore the lights . its only an advisory on the test but not sure how happy you are at tweeking the law a bit ? just an idea

yes matey you did, i did not use the bigger projector type ones coz they did not to seem to fit right, may of been my dodgey fittin but who knows haha

i did take the metal insert out of them and put them into the smaller projector so hope thats ok with the beam pattern, i did have a look into it on the vosa sight tho and all it said was that both lights had to be at the same height and did not mention a cut-off beam?? but yeah if all else fails i may be tweekin the nipples of the law haha:Giggle
