Pls help,
I need insurance for my 95 Rex. I have searched allot and best quote is £1800 the main issue is my age as I\'m 21. And allot of the companies including the one I used before now have changed to only insure 25 or 30 year olds.
If you know of a good company that may be able to give me a good quote pls let me know!!!
So far best is Adrian flux. Any advice would help, I have been driving for a year already but doesn\'t seem to be giving me any benifit.
Thanks
to be honest mate, at 21 having only been driving for 1 year, thats probably the best you\'ll find, surprised you managed to find 1 that low
Been driving 2 1/2 years, just had my rx7 for 1 year. I know 1800 isn\'t to much compared to some, but I hope I can beat that. £1800 is still allot of money.
Has anyone got a good quote from another company?
unfortunately, with a \'95 car, you (probably) won\'t be able to get it on a classic insurance quote, which is the common route for dropping the price...
the other option is to see whether it is any cheaper as a second car? (if so, buy an economical banger for your primary - even with tax/mot/insurance for the banger, it may work out cheaper).
However, as already mentioned, as a 21yo with only the 1 year, you\'r not gonna get it much cheaper (i was payin 1200 last year as the main car, and im 32yo with 2ncb)
I\'m with Elephant/Admiral and insure my RX7 and Bora TDI both fully comp for just over the 1k mark, 3 or 4 yrs no claims though - all mods declared, 3 points sp30
I got a cracking one with SKY Insurance (not the tv company) but I was 23 at the time so it may be of little use to you. That was £1074 with all mods declared and 5yrs NCB.
I have a sneaking suspicion that 1800 is probs the best you will get. What you paying just now if you dont mind me asking?
Last year was £2200 so small improvment. That was on my dads insurance.
Just got a quote from admiral for a 10month plan that gives you 1 years no claims at the end, at £1585. Think that\'s best I\'ll get. With no ncb of my own.
Don\'t go for the bonus accelerator schemes dude - other insurance companies won\'t count that as a year\'s NCB, so you\'ll be limited to only using Admiral again :(
As above - £1800 at that age sounds about right tbh. And getting it in your own name is a good move, as then you\'re not committing insurance fraud...
Really admiral said that it was no claims like anyother?

Forgot to say i\'m 23 too :o
sky came through rather expensive for me (insuring just the rx7 more expensive than im now paying for 2 cars etc)
Got your dad as a additional driver btw? brings it down somewhat even though its in your name :)

that\'s actually a good point lol never thought of adding him on my policy, will that drop it much? Ery little helps! Lol
Well added my dad and it dropped to £1200, that I\'m happy with! Thanks everyone advice paid off.
adding my mum to the policy knocked off £150 off my policy, shes never even seen the car!
i insured it when i was 24 with no ncb for 800 fully comp so seems i didnt do bad
Nope that\'s very good!
I think £1200 is very good though as I\'m so young have no ncb as been on my fathers policy since passing test and also have 3points for a TS10.
Now just got to get her back from Haywards rotary lol

I found it out by accident heh added my ex onto the policy while we were together and it dropped my insurance (toy boy-ness ftw :Laugh lol) so when we split and the insurance tried to up itself i added my mum to it and it dropped back down :)
Glad could help though :Santa

they say that - and *they* will treat it like a normal NCB - but no other insurance company will. Got stung like that myself on my first insurance deal from Norwich Union - when I switched to Sky, they wouldn\'t recognise it...
For the sake of 2 months (and may a hundred quid or so more) it\'s just not worth it...
