At the moment its all I have.  The insurance company says no.  My broker has found another insurer, but 4500 it way too much.

Im pretty much prepared to give up now without looking.  I doubt I can find anywhere.

I feel for you mate:(

I\'m pretty much in the same situation, after Admiral getting my age wrong (stated 1970 actually 1979) they suddenly wanted another £1000 on top of the £1100 premium and that was for a 10month policy:eek: I was forced to cancel with a promise I\'d be fully refunded, as yet no money has returned into my account:rolleyes:

So I went back on to the insurance hunt, 24 and a half, type r2, 2 years no claims, garaged cat 1 alarm etc etc etc. Best quotes i\'ve had are Adrian Flux £2100 and £1600 tpf&t, Elephant £1768 fuly comp but for 10months:reallymad everyone else won\'t quote me until i\'m 25, only 5 months away. It is becoming a joke, I had  a real quote in January with elephant for a twinturbo import for £1050 fuly comp for a year, what has happened since then?????? I just don\'t get it, why such an increase in premium? or is it just the random factor with insurance companies and i\'ve just been dealt the short straw?

Rant over, Paul (back to the 1.5hp scooter;)  )

Well mines gone up because of an accident last year.  I feel like its punished me twice.  Loss of NCB and also a Claim against me.

Thus im not left being 22
0 NCB
SP50 (for 85 on a motorway)
Claim

Looking at the I wouldnt insure myself.  Im not as bad as it looks though it was just one freak accident.

Dont know what im going to do.  My plans to drive in D1 are gone if I cant get insured.  Ive never had a car <200 bhp since 17 either, so I really cant deal with something crap and I dont like this 200SX much...

hmmm

Off to Bolney to not think for a bit :)

Get yourself a cossie powered kit car then, those things aren\'t really that expensive to insure and are light so mega quick if you must have over 200bhp.

To much power at too early an age.

I dunno, these young whipper snappers today eh??!!!:D :D ;)

Errm thanks for the suggestion, but no :D

I dont have to have 200bhp, id be happy with an Elise but I cant insure them either :(

O.K. have you tried Adrian Flux - I imagine you have but what about their classic car policy?

I don\'t know if you have to be a certain age to qualify, but they gave me a damn good quote on a Mazdaspeed kitted FD with MS02\'s, chip, fmic, filter and \'zorst\'.

The quote was obviously limited mileage and based as 2nd vehicle.
I\'m 25 and the quote was <1k.

Good luck.

I havnt tried anyone yet.

Last year I was too young for Adrian FLux though, and now having a worse record I doubt they will be too good!

Might try a few poeple, thing is I only found one company last year who would insure it so no-one is going to do it now.

As long as nothing changed I think you will be ok.  Unfortunatly thats not the case with me, and now it looks like Im going to have to get rid.

I know there will be people here thinking its my fault (and it kind of is though I may have had problems anyway), and that it was a decent car for my age so I shouldnt complain.  The tough part is once you have it, being forced to take that step back.  Not getting there in the first place I could deal with!

The only advantage I can think of at the moment is having a lot more free cash (FD, easily my most costly outgoings), but whats the point with nothing to use it on

I want something I can use on track, but I cant get a dedicated track car as its too much money to have just sitting there not being used often.  I also just dont want any FWD shite if I can avoid it :D

I dont think Ill find anything to be honest.  Im thinking 3 years, sort my record out, become 25 and get something decent.

Seems too far to think about - I want something now  :p

Why would anyone think it was your fault ? how can it be your fault that insurance companies charge too much

Err its my fault cause I had a crash.

Theres no gaurantee id get insured again anyway but chances are it would of just been renewed if it wasnt for a claim.

no chance of being able to do it in time for yer next insurance year etc but have you looked at things like the IAM (institute of advanced motorists)  http://www.iam.org.uk/ (http://www.iam.org.uk/) or rospa (no not RSPCA Gurj\'s Dog thread is safe (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/ruinkai/biglaugha.gif)) http://www.roada.org.uk/ (http://www.roada.org.uk/)  not a freebie although i think IAM do discounts for under 25\'s & once passed should/may assist with getting insurance down a bit i guess......
I went to IAM thing at weekend b4 pod (no laughing at the back they were quite complimentary about my driving other than the none 100% 20to2 thing although i think the mondeo is slightly easier to drive in such a way think they\'d of had me drawn & 1/4\'d if i was in me FD ) & i am tempted to do it as a preemptive strike on next years insurance, oh & they occasionally go to skid pans as well that may of tempted me too (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/sarge/Flip_anim.gif)
Just an idea for potentially making you look more insurance healthy.....

Someone bought me an IAM course for a birthday a while back, I think they and I thought it would be quite an exciting thing

Unfortunately not quite what I had imagined !

no i did find it hard not to have an arguement about if passing steering wheel thru yer hand was so much better for control then why dont racing drivers do it & response was they dont have oncoming traffic thou do they
(http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/blackeye/lol.gif) & sure aint a this is how to best drive yer car to limits but it has it;\'s merits & can\'t argue about safety stuff i suppose on various aspects but as i say tiz more for the dull style of driving but if we\'re talking insurance stuff then it\'s good stuff :god
