Hi all, just bought myself a great looking FD3 to join the ranks. Everything seemed fine when I checked the car out, recent comp check printout read fine, all 7\'s, started first time hot or cold, drove great etc....BUT!
Got the car home & have developed a water leak. It is actually dribbling off the drivers side bottom corner of the (aftermarket) i/c fitted.
On the test drive the red light & beep happened, but only for a second before it went off. Previous owner said that this was due to an airlock as he had just fitted a new rad (which he has). I cannot find the pipe that this leak is coming from. Mileage is 29k genuine, but original engine, no rebuild.
Can anyone help please?
I so hope this is not bad news.
Sounds like it\'s coming from the overflow tank mate.
The car possibly has an air lock, or the system was possibly overfilled.
Keep an aye on it the next couple of days, also try to "burp" the system.
Worst case scenario it can also be a sign of waterseal failure though! Is there any smoke on startup etc? Rad pipes go brick hard??
Thanks mate. Just checked & I think I have found it.
A jubilee clip has pinched a hole in the pipe that runs from under the filler cap to the top of the radiator on the drivers side, so it looks like I just need to replace that hose.
Anyone know if they are easy to come by?

Just to complete this thread, I can confirm that a jubilee clip on the i/c pipe had rubbed against the rad hose, the back of the screw on the clip making a hole!!
New pipe fitted & all is well, thank god!!!!
