Title: Reusable rotor housing?
Post by: Jovic82 on July 20, 2009, 10:30:37 AM
Can anyone tell me the tolerances for the chromium plating on a 13b tt rotor housing.

I have some chrome receeding from one of the edges - it is 5 inches long and receeds back from the edge 2mm. Is this to much to reuse?

Regards

My understanding is that 2mm is the limit.

different tuners say different things. Pineapple racing say don\'t use a housing thay has ANY flaking. Mazda manual says 2mm though as far as I remember.

Okay thanks guys, I will take a view on the width as it seems 2mm is close to the limit. Is there any recommendations as to the maximum length of the defect?

TBH i would replace if there is any defects just for longevity of the engine, I usaly fit new Housings on a rebuild where i\'m replacing the Apex\'s anyway.
