Title: Knightsport ECU
Post by: luckynumberseven on July 17, 2009, 05:54:27 AM
I want to try/buy a knightsport ecu my car is fd3s which has blitz sonic power filter, decat pipe, intercooler hard pipes, and blitz nur spec s cat back,i also removed the secondry butterflies from the uim so would ideally like a knightsport that has been chipped for my modifications
Thanks in advance and i would also colect if i can.

I would get a mappable jobbie if i were you, as decats without proper tuning seem to cause no end of hassles, usually expensive ones

I have read the hassles but i went ahead and fitted a decat and all i could tell was a slight reduction in power just after transition onto both turbos. can i have that knightsport ecu to try please.

depending on cost of the k\'sport ecu.. then if it fails and u try another.. it would be better to go straight for a mappable ecu. saves u from buying lots of different ecu.
thats just my opinion :)

Plus a mappable ecu makes the most of your decat instead of just some preset figures on a pre-programmed unit.

Pip got me an extra 80hp from a decat and a dp over my boost spiking stock ecu so it was worth every pretty penny

i think k/sport ecu\'s are good in that you can get onesetup allready meaning get one thats got the same settings that mine has and the car it came of was producing 320bhp then thats gotta be sensible and easier to do than paying for a pfc and then getting it mapped.
Has anyone here got a k/sport i can have.

Has anyone got an ecu they no longer need, is my car a one of good example because i don\'t get the dreaded fuel cut and i\'m driving with a decat and performance filter,i have no boost gauge but i thought on a standard ecu that if it goes above 12psi then the standard ecu cuts fuel to the rar rotor.

Am i safe with my setup knowin i am not overboosting.

I have the knightsports ecu, came out of a car running silenced decat, air filters, aftermarket exhaust,The actual casing of the ecu is damaged but the chips are fine, they just unplug and plug back in in your standard ecu.

£100 delivered,i\'ll get a pic up in a bit for you.
