Title: Adjusting the TPS
Post by: bobster on April 22, 2004, 01:58:47 PM
I noticed at the weekend that my FD pulls alot better on part throttle than it does on WOT. I did a little research and this is would appear to have something to do with the Throttle Position Sensor.
I checked the voltages read by the PFC and they are both out of the ranges. Does anyone know which voltages relate to the values on the PFC.

VTA1 -
VTA2 -

The voltages I looked up are
closed     / open
0.7-1.2v / 4.8-5.0v

0.1-0.7v / 4.2-4.6v

I just don\'t know what ones are what since these values are usually adjusted with a Multimeter.

Have a look here:

Gives a good picture of how to test and check tps adjustment :)

VTA 1 is the full range sensor
VTA 2 is the narrow range sensor

full/narrow explanation is in the link above.

Cheers for that.

Just for future reference.

Fully Closed        Closed to Open    Fully Open

Full R(VTA1)       0.1 - 0.7 V           0.4 - 4.3 V             4.2 - 4.6V
Nar R(VTA2)       0.75 - 1.25 V       1.0 - 5.0 V             4.8 - 5.0 V

edited because it made sense when I was looking at it:rollin
