Title: what alloys to buy?
Post by: alexb on April 22, 2004, 01:21:39 PM
Ok everyone, my car\'s got the standard 16" wheels and jap rubber on at the moment, and I want to get some nice shiny 17\'s or 18\'s (I\'ll keep the 16\'s for the track)...
Trouble is, I don\'t know which ones to go for, looks or weight-wise... I was thinking Rays TE37\'s but does anyone know how they\'d look in bronze on a montego blue car?

So, anyone got any suggestions? What do you lot have? Pics would be good too :)

Cheers,
Alex

It would be hard to get MS02 I think.

Id just go for something 2nd hand and reasonably priced or some new volks would be nice but loads of money!

I really like the look of mine now with a deep dish 10 inch split rim on the front - shame they are not the same as my rear rims!  Need to get a couple of tyres swapped, then Ill get matching wheels again and put some OS +20 on the rear.  Should be cool.

Tim, cheers for that - looks ok eh? :)

The TE37\'s are expensive, but really nice, I think I\'d prefer to save up/bash the credit card and get something I really like rather than settle for something else and spend my time wishing I\'d got them in the first place....

What are the correct sizes and offsets for 18" wheels? There is the sticky thread in this section but if I remember correctly the 18" info wasn\'t definite?

Cheers,
Alex

TE37 are MAD!

I tried some on my car and they look awesome.

Rich is right. 18x8.5and9.5 +40 for a standard car.

You can see some wider ones on my car in this thread.

Hmm, that\'s strange, thought I\'d posted a reply just now  must be the beers...

Anyway, as I was saying...

Cheers mate, I was thinking 18\'s for the street and the original 16\'s with DO1J\'s for the track. Will the 18\'s be ok with stock suspension or would it look better lowered?
Cheers,
Alex
