Post by: Martin on April 22, 2004, 03:04:31 AM
How can you tell which version the PFC is just by looking at the outside? all I see is PFC FD3S6 next to the serial numbers and Ive seen ones with PFC FD3S4 so what year do the numbers correspond to? can anyone help?

FD3S4 is for FD\'s from 12/91 - 1/96 so thats basically 92-95 models.. err need help with the others :(

FD3S6 is suitable for Spirit R\'s I think... what year were these made? 99 -2000?

Errr, FD3S-4\'s started in 1996 i.e. the 16-bit cars; mine and Ants are FD3S4-\'s and they are both March \'96 16-bit cars...

An FD3S-6 is a series 8 car.

Power FC\'s have had loads of serial numbers put on them over the years, I\'m not sure they are much good for telling which model they are for use with tho. You need to know the\'Z\' number...

Spirit R\'s were built til Aug 2003 I believe...

414-Z005 1/96 -> 1/99

Yep, Kevins right; if u dont have a Z-number then u wont be sure what year its for without plugging it in I dont think.

Iwan\'s right, the 16 bit cars have 3 connectors that plug into the ecu, the early cars have 4. Or the other way round? fairly sure its 4 on the early cars...

Hi Iwan, btw, trust you\'re well...

if any PFC owners are reading this and have nothing better to do, maybe they can just take a peek at their serial numbers post it on here together with the year of their car:)
