Hi,
First of all my car drives like a dream even gave an R1 a go last week :)
BUT!!!!
I have 3 references for the water temp. 1 mazda own temp gauge 2 commander 3 after market temp gauge sensor connected to top rad pipe.
normal driving round town ect not to agressive.
mazda gauge shows 1/3 temp
commander shows mid to high 90\'s
after market shows 12 to 15 below commander
motorway averaging 90ish
mazda shows 1/4
commander shows low to mid 80\'s
after market again 12 to 15 below commander
WOT for a prolonged time
mazda 1/2
commander high 90\'s low 100\'s once got to above 110 :(
after market again 12 to 15 below commander
now going by the mazda own & after market does not seem to bad
but the commander reading is worrying me. Also my inlet temps seems high to when just normal driving can get upto the 50\'s but obviously when driving at speed it drops down to high 20\' low 30\'s
I dont seem to be loosing any coolent as when i take off the filler cap it is topped up. I do have an oil leak which is very annoying as i cant get it to stop but i always make sure that it is topped up.
Just bothered about the water temps
I have a v mount setup & had to rewire the fans when fitting so could i have connected them up wrong so they are kicking in only once the highest temp trigger is coming on?
would it abe a good idea to wire them direct to ignition so they are on all the time?
i have a scoot style bonnet but standard early type bumper.. would an after market bumper help with temps???
Cheers Garith.
Hi Garith when i had that v mount never saw temps above 85 (on commander) unless i was stuck in traffic for a long time. which would suggest to me the fans arent wired properly.
Thanks Lee
i,m going to get her up in the air & run until the fans come on just to see at what temp they come on, Then go from there.
Cheers Garith..
but dont the fans only come on at about 108 via the thermoswithch? correct me if im wrong. so, if lee never saw temps over 85 then his fans would never need to come on?
I think one of the fans comes on at a lower temp then at the higher both come on.. Not sure what the temps are but i know they are staggered starts..
Garith.
