Woke up this morning an found my bonnet clips removed from my car, why \'o why would someone want these???? :reallymad
Seen a lot of people look at the car but didnt think they would go an do this, the bright side is there is no damage just missing parts, maybe because I dont tend to clean my car that often so it looks a little grubby and no need for damage.
Any ideas where these can be replaced from? Demon Tweeks?
Annoying buggers. I\'ve just replaced my clips with lockable, er, locks. Looks better imo to the sticky-uppy clips as thay\'re flush to the bonnet. Was a bit fiddly and I needed to cut away a bit of the bonnet too.
Got them from

Iain do you have any photos of them fitted, i have bort a set which are presumably the same GE66 ones which originate from Graystone engineering or sumin like that i did a search on google & found the speedshack as per this spreadsheet (http://www.speedshack.co.uk/Flash/downloads/3-6-03%20Retail%20Catalogue.xls) did them & dare i say cheaper than the price you mention (or at least price on that link)...
Anyway i cant decide whether to put them between or behind headlight bit of bonnet  so any photos or tips or ideas would be good? Also if you have fitted them was it easy enough? (not that i\'ll be doing it anyway ;) lol)
Cheers

Si - Mine are fitted next to the lights. It was a bit tricky as the bonnet angle is quite steep there so the lock mechanism comes together with the pin at an angle.
A bit of fiddling and a gentle filing of the pin and it goes in a treat. The 1st one took about 2 hours to fit, the second (once I knew what I was doing) about 30 mins all told.
I\'m well chuffed with it. Won\'t be able to take a photo until Thursday evening though but will post one then if I remember.
Iain
OK cool i\'ll try & remember to remind ya ;)

Muzzy,
Sorry to hear that mate, unfortunatley people have no respect for other peoples property nowadays, when i was a lad (i know i know) we would not have dreamed of damaging a nice car, we just admired them.
Have you got the 30amp fuse yet? How is she running?
Cheers
Donato
Thanks for the info, ended up going for demon tweeks, £10 a pair, so bought 2, just in case!
Not got my fuse yet, phoned Ross for one an he is sending it up soon, but she is running good and in these dry days right now raring to go m8!
Get the clutch sorted?
When you get the fuse give me a shout and we can go for a wee blast!
Yeah my clutch is done but its a stock clutch thats on it now, it doesnt feel as fast now :( I think its because of the lack of clamping power and a heavier flywheel. A lot easier for traffic driving though!
Think i will change back as soon as i can afford the plates which should be a couple of months from now.
Bet its much easier when tryin to take off in traffic jams between the lights! Maybe its only plus point, will give you a shout next week, away for the weekend and hope to fit the fuse this week b4 I go.
That is its only plus point!
Cool mate, im playing football mon/tue and wed then im off to amsterdam next thur so probably better the week after?
Cheers
Donato

Arse - it\'s dark outside now.
Will try over the weekend.
Pathetically yours,

Okay - flash does odd things to paint work but you\'ll get the idea...
another view. Filler needed for screw holes from old pins. Should be pretty invisible once finished.
oh that\'s interesting so you actually had the chrome kinda circular piece painted same as yer car?

hadn\'t even fort of doing that........
Si (resists doing his smilie fort as i\'m saving that! (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/ups/dvx_rune/smooch.gif))
Sprayed \'em myself - not perfect but I used the back of the plate so the polished/chromed side is still there untouched if I fncy a change! Need to remove them and lacquer them at some point but the paint hardened off nicely as i did it a few weeks before fitting.
Iain
Nasty man now i\'m in 2 minds again..........
Si (AKA skitzophrenic (http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/fragend/confused-smiley-014.gif))

Si (go on ya will ya will ya will ya will (http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/grinser/grinning-smiley-003.gif) lol)
I\'ll take some more this evening while I\'m fitting my new Apexi :D
Iain
good luck with getting fit

ted.

Fitted and working :-) All self-learned and everything. QUestion now is 0.8/0.7 bar or 0.9/0.8 bar :D
Anyhoo, piccies...
closer...
hmm cheers for that tiz very interesting & gives me some food for thought. So you painted the white side (looks kinda white on mine) the colour of car, doesn\'t look like it quite matches perfectly on the photo may i inquire if it always looked like that or faded, other etc?
Can i take it from distructions on the back of packet that you can easily, by unscrewing the bolt under the bonnet side, easily remove the plate bit & turn other way up?

lol, in which case nothing to loose from painting other side i guess

Does look very subtle & i\'m very tempted however much i normally get seduced

by the chrome effect
Si
the \'white\' side (at least on the ones I got) is the chrome side - it\'s a layer of sticky paper that protects the chrome. I paintes the side that\'s meant to be the underneath so I have the bling option.
The paint I used is the closest I could get my hands on and, depending very much on light, looks either very similar or completely different. The paint on me pride and joy (the car) changes colour drastically in different lighting conditions.
Iain
PMSL shows how much chrome i\'ve bought previously i hadn\'t even tried taking the labels off the white side (http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/lynx/pinkdizzy.gif) i now see that side is slightly more shiny, although there aint much in it init (http://smilies.jeeptalk.org/contrib/unknown/face82.gif) lol
Si (+ boring er black paintjob
