Title: Tuning Stormbleeders FD
Post by: dandan on June 23, 2009, 11:53:30 PM
Hi all, Not often found lurking aorund these parts any more, what with not having owned a rotary for nearly 3 years now, something i am doing my best to rectify by the way: http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58202
Anyway, Rich (Stormbleeder) finally took his car to RE:Worx today to get it tuned, and I made a little video of the fun and games, enjoy. :)
Still a couple of tweaks until we can get full power but quite pleased so far, er, apart from the whole engine catching fire bit, obviously.

As engine fires go, it was the weakest of the weak and didn\'t damage anything in the engine at all, just burnt off some fuel which leaked out......thankfully. Still scary as hell though.
Where I\'m running higher fuel pressure than stock and the fuel pipe under the UIM was still being held on by a standard spring clip, it lifted under pressure and leaked a little bit of fuel out of the side of the pipe.
The spark plugs are on order I\'m going with 10s leading and 11s trailing. The alarm cuts through the ignition wiring so I\'m sorting that this weekend.
Just leaving a softer wastegate spring as my current one appears to be a 0.9 bar spring and it creeps to 1.0 - 1.1 bar, which makes my boost controller pointless. What do people think I should go for, a 0.6 or a 0.8 bar spring, considering I have a 0.2 bar creep? :)
