Title: Are these rads any good?

This one...
MAZDA RX7 FC3S 89-91 ALLOY RACE RADIATOR ALUMINIUM RAD on eBay (end time 14-Jul-09 14:52:48 BST) (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MAZDA-RX7-FC3S-89-91-ALLOY-RACE-RADIATOR-ALUMINIUM-RAD_W0QQitemZ120378464284QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item1c071d981c&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1683%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50)
Mine has a stock rad, and considering how important cooling is to a rotary, and not seen anyone else UK based sell uprated FC rads, especially at a pretty cheap price, I was thinking it might be wise to bank it now for future use, if its any good that is!?
Anyone know? I presume its just a chinese job the same as 100s of other companies sell as their own, but I dunno as this is the only one ive spotted!

It looks similar to the ASI rad I have which is a Chinese copy of the Koyo rad.    As far as cooling goes, they are excellent, but the welds between the core and end tanks can leak so it might be worth getting it solder dipped or have someone resolder the ends.

As for stock fit - no - although you may get lucky

What fitting issues did you have?

brackets on the side were all in the wrong place so had to cut most of them off, and also where the rad hoses go doesn\'t quite line up with the stock hose locations in terms of length.

In the photo, your top neck looks like it\'s at a different angle from mine, so it may fit with more of a slant, but I\'d be concerned about clearance for the sway bar / power stearing rack and also the stock viscous clutch fan.

If its a PITA I wont bother, I was purely going to bank it for future use (its fine at the mo, but as we know FC tuning parts at cheap prices rarely come up), but if it will be a ballache its not worth it really.

If you can find one, then a Koyo is the way to go - quality build and it is a stock fit.

I have just fitted a 2nd hand Koyo to mine and the fit was spot on,worth the extra to get something of quality. You can never skimp on the cooling side of things too much.

To be honest theres no problem with my cooling, its just as uprated rads at decent money dont seem to crop up every day for the FC I thought I might bag one for the future while I could, but by sounds of it this one isnt worth bagging, lol

Cheers for the info
