Due to a lunatic pheasant flying at over 120mph hitting the front of my car I have noticed a large number of star type cracks appearing in and around the area of impact so I\'ve contacted a guy locally who can rub it down/spray etc . Rather than take the chance of it getting flooded etc at the bodyshop I thought it might be an idea to remove it and deliver it in one of my vans. Anyone know how to best remove it?
some kind of handled turning device?
That simple is it?
from what I remember, there are 12 bolts in total..... 4 under the bonnet on the bumper support frame, 6 on the corner of the bumper which joins the front of the wings and 2 where the end of the bumper and wings meet
Jack up the front and put the headlights in the up position
remove the front wheels and use a screwdriver to remove the fixings in the front half of the arch liners.
If you reach inside the arch liners and feel along the front of the wings you will find 3 10mm nuts 2 you can get fron under the arch the other 1 is easier if you take out the indicators reach through past the popped up lights and undo
Take out the 10 mm blots along the top of the slam pannel
Check in the grill part along the top edge some cars have licence plate holders fogs etc theough the bumper plastic if so remove.
Pull the whole lot free and job done if its the first time will prob take around 20-30 mins.
Thanks very much I\'ll attack it in the morning
