Clipping my loom at the ecu to get rid of solenoids
right i have the solenoids clipped.
where do i clip at the ecu? I have the wiring diagram in front of me.
Am i right in thinking to just clip the two end most black wires.
EM 4A and EM 4B which are B/W? please responday!!!!
I have to drive to work tomorrow so i need this doing as a precaution
Karl Tate would be ya man, he completely rewired his FD he would know
cheers blitz, did you run fjo drivers on your secondaries?
Nope never did , didnt need to
Ive just installed fjos on the map, was you air temp sender in stock location too?
Im getting huge ignition breakup at 5000rpm Its really annoying. i thought it was the loom at the crank angle sensors wires where crap on the loom i got my new engine with. i have swapped that out. added fjos and earthed the coil properly. Its still breaking up but not as bad. any ideas,
coil test?
earth from battery in the boot to engine?
Igniter?
So have you actual installed an FJO driver box or resisitors?
Yes air temp sensor stock location.
Possible the igniter, or plugs
I installed resistors initially, I thought at this time coupled with the fact i had a bad loom in my engine and a good one on the way. id had fjos to the good loom off the car so i could get the connections spot on. (its hard to solder a loom on a car lol)
I suspect and its first on the list when i get home my earth is bad as the battery is now in the boot. ill sort this tonight.
ill test the coils and igniter too.
Will i have to reduce secondary lag time blitz cos of the fjos?
So do you have this installed?
I would leave the lag settings as is
yes i have the above installed but the newer version. Very easy to do.
I have (this afternoon) ran a thick wire now from the - battery to the front strut mount. I now get less ignition breakup but its still there. what else can this be.
The only other thing i can think to do is change out the fuse box harness as the earth that goes to the mid plate on the engine isnt great. If its not that im well stumped. I doubt its the coils or igniter and ive looked on a few usa threads and some people have tried everything and not got rid of this breakup then a hks twinspark sorted it (avoiding the problem)
Im sure its earth related so ill have another blast tomorrow.
where are the best earth spots on the car in the bay?
and do the coils have to be earthed in a special way?
I also have got heavily fouled plugs. i think this is because of the ignition breakup.
I have also noticed i cant view any engine parameters on the laptop or watches. They have worked once but not since.
hmm this car is doing my nut in now blitz. Ive had my new engine a year and done 0 WOT miles and spent and eay 3k since. so close ( i keep saying it)
you need to put it on the dyno im afraid dude , seeing where you live your nearest rx7 expert would be Pip at WGT then he can diagnose your problem correctly.
What are your afrs like at 4.5k to 5k?
I have just set my wideband up on datalogit AN1. i set 0 volts = 9 value and 5 volts = 19. I kept the poly part the same
I collected these ranges from the graph instructions that comes with the wband.
trigger-wheels.com/store/contents/en-uk/p64.html (http://trigger-wheels.com/store/contents/en-uk/p64.html)
the spark plugs are heavily fouled and the exhaust is getting their too.
at P08 N05 the ave is 14.61
at p10 N09 the ave is 10.00 N10 = 9.55 N11 9.17 N12 same N13 9.13
I know this is super rich but. Have i set my band up ok, i think i have?
Does this mean i have a leak injector and my car has ignition breakup because of far too much fuel going in?
We did have the same setup. should i go for a proper logging session now and send you the log file??
