Post by: DR SCHNITZEL on June 19, 2009, 07:19:55 PM
I have just received my FJO\'s and the instructions dont look too good on how to set them up on teh rex. does anyone have clear instructions on how to install them or any pictures. I have ran a few searches but to no avail. Any links etc would be really helpful

What bit are you having issues with. I\'ve fit one not too long ago using 850 primaries and 1600 secondaries !

Hi mate, just got it today and had a good read. it seems simple enough,

1,  I have the red going to my injector positives

2,  The other injector wire to be split. then the white wires near the injector, and the solid wire to the pfc side of the wire

3, not forgetting the ground.

I could do with a pic of the loom where the red wire was spliced too if possible. the loom is off the car for modification. Any setup pics woudl be good just to make sure i get it right.

Ah, I didn\'t take any photos while I was doing it !

The Positive wire on the loom is much thicker and I just spliced it in on the last injector. It is common along all the injectors anyway so can be spliced in at any point.

I put the box behind the ABS unit, soildered up the new plugs with cable and then did each one at a time. Its not a difficult job just long due to the amount of soldiering !

ah right it needs to get feed from both the secondaries though? Or is just one OK? It makes sense that it goes from one wire but the diagram shows the wire attached to all (or further up the wire before it splits off). Ill be soldering the whole setup off the car. I need to do my injector plugs first.

I have Got to find the + and Negative on the injector plugs. How will i do this? This is my last worry. Should be piece of cake though after this.

The second link posted up had the wiring layout for the stock loom and the manual for the fjo. That should explain it all :D

Ah, only bosch show the positive side of the injector. There isn\'t really a polarity of the injectors you can wire them up either way but bosch claim there is a tiny benift. My siemens ones didn\'t show polarity.

All done, I have  wire going to both the thick secondary injector wires which links to the red (just to be sure) And the white wires go to the other injector wire and the corresponding sold to the ecu. Its all wrapped up and looks the bizz.

Shaun did you run a 15a fuse on your red wire? It says your supposed to.

It allows you to run low impedance injectors in the peak and hold format not saturated witha resistor which is the cheapo way (works though). I dont trust those resistors so i opted for this. cost about 100 quid

Did it have an in line fuse in the wire ?? Can\'t actually remember if I did ! I\'m not sure if I left it so the ignition fuse was the main one !

Theres no inline fuse with it but i might just install one just to be safe. The looms ready to go in now. I just need to know what wires to clip near the ecu that link to the solenoid plugs i have cut off. dont fancy melting my new loom. Th efsm isnt too clear

Sorted you clip the 2 thick B/W ones on the end of one of the plugs.
