Title: clutch wear?
Post by: Jovic82 on June 18, 2009, 06:24:14 PM
Hopefully my engine should be coming out at the weekend and just wondered how you can check for clutch wear once clutch/ gearbox is exposed?

It didnt feel particularly worn when driving before pulling the engine but if it is wearing and whilst engine is out, may be worth replacing!

Cheers

Nick

Providing you have a standard clutch you will find the ferodo material on your clutch centre plate is held together by rivets.

If the ferodo material is worn either close to the rivet heads or metal has rubbed the rivets then replacment is required.

Hope this helps
