Title: FD Coolant... possibly an issue :?
Post by: Jono FD3 on June 14, 2009, 12:21:36 AM
Guys, basicaly what is happening is this:

I changed my thermostat due to a leek from the seal! anyway, topped the water up & now for some reason when I start her after a drive the buzzer shouts at me to put more water in.... so I do, drive home 2 mile, stop in the drive & water is coming out of the expantion tank :xconfused thing is when I check it tomorrow I can garantee it will shout at me again!!!

Any sujestions??
She has never used any water so seals should be fine!

Cheers
Jono

I do hope its just sorting the levels out as this was how mine started before i had water seal failure. :( id bleed the system and make sure you dont have air in and take it from there :Thumbs-up

bled the system & there was an air lock in there and there was a little bit of crap on the seal of the AST cap ;) hopefuly that is it, but haven\'t tested it as yet!

Good luck with it, it can be a nightmare bleeding the coolant. I have this to do over the weekend and I\'m not looking forward to it lol!!

Phheeeewwwwwweeee!!!! After all my stressing.... it turned out to be an air lock, or it looks like it as there is no more water flowing out of the header tank after a run :)

Rotorstock, here we come!!

I\'m hoping mine is this easy.  There has been a weap of coolant from the thermostat some time ago but you\'d think WGT would have picked this up at my service a month ago???

Please see my post, thanks
