Hi all just wondering if anyone can help.
I was driving my FD3s today which had an engine rebuild 6000 miles ago by WGT, it was raining but that wasnt the problem. At a junction it just cut out and took ages to kick back in then the heat symbol kept coming on and it kept trying to cut out, eventually nursed it back home by keeping the revs up and now it wont kick in, there is oil and water in it and it had the oil and filter changed roughly a month ago but not the plugs and leads done which i was going to do in the next couple of weeks. There is now every time i turn on the ignition a strange clicking noise from three places in the engine bay one of these being the AC plate. Is this a major problem or just a common problem, any help would be appreciated.
Cheers:eek::mad::mad:
When you say there is a loud clicking noise does it do it once when you turn the Ignition on? or all the time?
Does it turn over ok? Sounds daft but at the same speed and sounds the same? (Apart from it not starting, Obviously)
Did you go through any big Puddles etc? (is it possible to have soaked the wiring?)
Did the Turbo spool up when you where nursing it back?
Do you have any Mods? PFC etc?
hummmmmmmmm the only times i got clicking noises is when i blew my ECU :(
but that was on a FC
if you want more info ( rather than the fear of god i might have put in you ) have a search for my thread about it
ok here is thread about : http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29946
might be worth a read just to see if the symptons are they same ?
Tried start it just and it kicks in but only for about ten seconds then turns off and there are various clicks from around the engine bay sounds weird but when i push down on the relay block by the battery the clicking changes and yeah have drove through some big ass puddles today because had to get back home via the M6
Well first off i\'d be breaking out the WD40, spray all the plugs you can find, electrical connections etc, Check as many Grounds as you can find (make sure they are clean and making good connections)
Check your Passenger Foot well (see if its wet) maybe even take the panel off and have a look at the ecu (it lives at the base of the A post)
As My Grinder says it could be a ECU Prob so if you have a spare or could borrow one just to try it would help.
