im trying to decode my chassis number on the Cab - and it looks a really short number
soo....
if any of you own a JDM FC - can you look at the chassis number ( on the bulk head )
and either
1 - let me know the total lengh of it
2 - PM me your chassis number so i can check it against mine
if you are not keen to let me know the number - then thats fine and i can appreciate that
mine looks like this :
FC3C 999999
where the 6 9\'s are the number
as you can see - its dead short - i thought they were always about 17 chars in length

nope V5 only shows a 10 digit one ( or summat like that )

hummmm well ok then - thats a start - at least it proves that all the JDM ones are short :D
now to do some digging to find out what it means
mine is in the 201XXX range - so i assume that all yours are aswell ????????
now i did some digging around and found out that the serial number ( the 6 digit number ) puts mine in this bracket

bu then looking at the chassis number from the Black coupe i had - that was in the 200000 range but that was a 1990 car
hummmmm looks like this chassis number range means naff all :(
so the only thing from all this would say that the FC3S is the hard top and the FC3C is the convertable model
i cant believe that there is nothing else on these cars to say what year they were made or in what factory etc...

so according to the table, mine is dec 91 onwards also. so prob one of the last ones out the factory lol.
no wonder parts didnt add up.. last fc thy squeezed out the factory n made it out of all the left over parts lol
maybe whould start to compile a list if jdm vin no\'s n try find common things?
i dunt remember seeing a plate on driver door area. jus remember a worn off sticker me thinks.
looking at the table mukurusubishi (y the looong name?!?!? lol)
my fc seems to be within the 1991 range.
funny how that table not got cabs on there.

haha been meaning to change my name to something that makes more sense
mines a 1989, the number starts "21" which i guess would make it a late 89, im not sure. couldnt find a sticker on the driver\'s door, but then again it\'s been resprayed!
hummm there is a sticker on the drivers door but its all in japanese and nothing that looks like a vin number

The original sale advert from powervehicles listed it as a 1989 GTX. And its been registered in the UK as a G reg
found a copy of v5 car registered 21 june 1991 in uk

i cant think when the dates changed on the reg - as mine is a 1991 on a J plate :D

the only annoying thing about mine is that the V5 Says :
First Reg : May 2000
Date Of Reg In UK : May 2000
Declared Manufactured : 1991
although it was made in 1991 - they gave it a J plate which is nice :D

i didnt realise it had been in the UK soo long - i thought it was a recent import ??
Dont forget that the V5 stuff will be taken off the original japanese import paperwork and unless you imported the car then you might not ever know what was on it.
Mine is a H plate so when i am home from this dreaded 48 deg C baking hot days i am getting here at present, I will check my import docs as i have some of those for mine.

Sorry only just seen this..
Mine\'s also FC3C-xxxxxx (6 digits) and I\'m sure the chassis numbers you\'ve got are weird because mine also starts 200000 but it\'s a 1989 not 1991.
Mine is unusual in that I do have a lot of the original Japanese paperwork (and also the auction papers) - so I can be sure of the date. Mine was on a UK "G" plate for a while.
I know that you can get a lot of info on the UK cars, but I\'ve never really tried for the JDM one - I\'ll have a dig too! :D
