Hi All
I will be changing my clutch very soon. I have had it for 3 years and I think that it may be on its way out
I can have the stock mazda clutch for around £260 inc or I have been told that Exedy clutch is better but it is much more expensive
I have well modified twin turbo producing around 350 BHP
Can I still use the stock clutch with the above power or would I benefit with a better clutch system and is it really worth spending more money if the stock clutch can handle my power. Do you really pay more for longer lasting clutch or do you actually get better acceleration / take of ect
I don’t take the car on the track but occasionally burn off other cars on private rds, like a mini drag race…
Can any one recommend a better clutch which isn’t that much more then stock one?
Regards,
Michaelb
They come with an exedy clutch as standard. Mine has around 320ish and i went for an exedy stage 2 clutch which i brought from mazda rotary parts at around £400. They can handle over 400+ and is driver friendly. Hope this helps.
mines an exedy clutch that i got from WGT, its rated for 350ft/lb and was £375, ive come from a standard worn out clutch to this and its taking a bit of time to get to used to but seems a good choice in my opinion, id go for that as then you will know you are covered for anything
go for a hyper single :)

If youre after something fairly cheapish and dont ind used, I have an xtreme clutch (australian company - reworx sell them) for 200...the friction plate is like new and the pressure plate is good. The pressure plate is good for about 40% more than standard (so 40% of 265 is 110 ish) so good for around 370hp

Hi
Thanks for that
How much was it new?
Why are you selling it and how many miles has it done?
Regards,
Michaelb
Hi Michaelb
its done barely any miles...id say 2000 max?! It is 620 new from reworx. Im selling it because I didnt think it would handle the 450 or so hp that my FD was putting out so I thought better to sell it than to fit it and burn it out!
If you send me your email, ill drop you some pics over
