Post by: mpk490p on April 17, 2004, 01:26:46 PM
I ve heard that people are putting a turbo gearbox on to the series 1\'s? i have a 13b in mine and was wondering if this is possible? as the engine\'s coming out soon it would be the perfect time to perform such a operation!! can any one confirm this is possible ( not so sure myself) as i say mine is a mark 1 series 3 with the 13b gsl engine in it.

Short answer is yes.

Long answer is needs some mods.

1. New clutch
2. \'may\' need some cludging to get the gearstick in the right place
3. New UJ needed on propshaft as output different size.
4. Starter may cause some woes depending upon which 13B you are using and the flywheel fitted.

Nothing unsurmountable though

Its stronger and heavier, that\'s all. The 1st gen boxes have weedy syncros.

If you want more power, then I can point you at how to EFI it cheaply.
