Title: After taking the UIM off it\'s struggeling to start
Post by: Bobbit on May 15, 2009, 10:26:12 AM
Took the UIM off yesterday to check my solenoids, put it back together and now the car wont start unless i floor the accelerator, it i turn the key the car catches but then dies. The idle seems a bit low too, it\'s dropped about 3-400rpm or so from 1k to 6-700 rpm. can anyone offer any advice on what to look out for or what to check. (What have i forgotten to attach or tighten correctly? :Grrr)
Thanks

Rob

Have you connected the idle valvle solenoid connector back up? It needs to be taken off when removing the UIM, so you may have forgotten to put that back on.

It\'s a black cylindrical object on the lower side of the UIM on the bulkhead side. It has a white electricl connector on it that the socket plugs onto. 2 pins.

It regulates the idle (Although on mine it is disconnected, but yours may require it), so it might be the part that is responsible for you not being able to start
