Title: Dorset Japanese Car Show: Sunday 2nd August 2009
Post by: robedwards99 on May 14, 2009, 02:00:45 PM

I would like to invite all members of MRC to the first annual Dorset Japanese Car Show (DJCS).

The show is to take place on Sunday 2nd August 2009 at the Canford Park Arena near Poole in Dorset. CPA is a purpose built venue which is ideally suited for this type of event.

With over 100 car clubs invited it\'s going to be a car packed day with the finest Japanese cars from the last 40 years on display.

The show will feature something for everyone:

And much much more!
[/LIST]

The newly revamped Redline magazine will be covering the event.

In order to have an MRC club stand all that is required is a minimum of 10 advance tickets and stand passes are bought. If fewer than 10 cars attend then they will still be able to display thier cars on the \'Mixed Club\' stand.

Stand passes will not be issued on the gate so it is essential that advance tickets are purchased if you want to display your car.

Advance tickets are just £6.50 each and if a single purchase of 10 or more is made a free ticket will be included (buy 10 get one free). Tickets on the gate will be £9.00.

Ideally an MRC club member will take control of organising this but if not you can still each buy tickets via the website, just ensure you state the club name when purchasing to ensure you are all put together!

You should find all the information you require on the website but if you have any questions then please don\'t hesitate to ask me!

http://www.dorsetjapanesecarshow.co.uk

It\'s going to be a fantastic day for all of the family so get your tickets booked and come along!!

Cheers,
Rob. :)

Just a quick reminder about this event!

Very dissapointing to see that there is no interest at all!! :(

Time is marching on and the event is looking better each day!! 6 fantastic bands are booked for the event who will be playing a great range of different music throughout the day to keep you entertained, along with a brilliant funfair with attractions for all ages!

The Show & Shine has some fantastic prizes & trophies lined up so if you want to enter you need to get your booking forms in ASAP!!

Most importantly…… Only 4 weeks left to book your stands and tickets so please do so ASAP to avoid disappointment!!

Closing date for advance tickets is 4th July 2009! Don’t leave it too late!!!

It’s going to be a fantastic day for all with some of the greatest Japanese cars in the country so don’t miss it!!

Cheers,
Rob.

NEW - Due to popular demand! If your club has fewer than 10 exhibitors then you will still be able to exhibit your cars at the show. In a slight change to previous plans there will now be a "Japanese Parking" area within the showground for everyone and anyone to exhibit their cars.

The \'Japanese Parking\' area will be set within the showground and is open for anyone to exhibit their cars or motorbikes.

People purchasing tickets on the day may exhibit within the \'Japanese Parking\' area but cannot reserve space within the area and space will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Advance ticket sales have also been extended until the 19th July 2009.

Come on you Southerners!!! How long have we been crying out for an event like this in the south!!!

Please visit the website and check out whats going on!! http://www.dorsetjapanesecarshow.co.uk

This is a great event...and fair play to Rob for going out on a limb in these trying financial times.

We will be attending this and taking one of the trade stands.

Should be a great opportunity to get another car out into the public domain.  The aim will be to have the Blue car, at the show along with the new yellow car.  I would love to have the new wide body pink machine...but given the timeframe...I think we have 2 hopes...and one of those is Bob!  But who knows ;)

Be great to see loads of other members there :)

I should be able to come to that one as I can mix a show with my camping holiday........which just happens to be just down the road from the venue (once I find a campsite that is and slowly break the news to the other half!!). Deviance is brill when it works out.

So far 2 cars booked in for the MRC, ideally require 10 so you get your own dedicated club stand so just 8 more needed.

It\'s very simple to purchase tickets, you can pay with card or paypal. Just follow the link below, type in Mazda Rotary Club where prompted, type in how many cars you are booking in then hit the \'Buy Now\' button. On the next screen just enter how many entry tickets you require and buy your tickets!

http://www.dorsetjapanesecarshow.co.uk/booking.html

All tickets & passes will be posted out to you about 2 weeks before the event.

I will also be at Rotorstock at the weekend so I\'ll be touting there and happy to chat with anyone about the event!! :D

Feel free to contact me if you are unsure about anything.

Rob.

Just one week left for advance ticket sales and club bookings! http://www.dorsetjapanesecarshow.co.uk/clubs.html

If you buy in advance and state the club name to which you belong providing there are 10 or more you will automatically be grouped together on your own stand!

You can just turn up on the day and buy tickets on the gate and still exhibit your car if you wish in the spacious \'Japanese Parking\' area. There will be ample room so you won\'t have to worry about doors getting knocked or anything like that!

It\'s looking to be an awesome day with more clubs and people buying tickets by the hour!!

What more could you want from a show!!! 100\'s of superb Japanese cars & bikes on display, 6 live bands playing, Funfair with rides and amusements for all ages, climbing wall, bouncy castles, face painting for the kiddies (and the less mature adults!!), Rolling road supplied by RE:Worx for dyno runs, Fire Brigade rescue demonstrations, Show & Shine Comp, Traders, Great food & drink, Licensed bar... something for everyone be they 2 years old or 80 years old!!

This will be a cracking day out and I look forward to seeing you there.

STOP PRESS: While it may not be to everyone’s taste there is no denying a truly unique eye catching vehicle is going to be raffled at the event. For the small price of just £20.00 per ticket you could be driving away at the end of the day in the one off \'HELLBOUND\' !!!
For more info look here: http://www.dorsetjapanesecarshow.co.uk/hellboundraffle.html

Whilst MRC will not offically be attending this event as a club, please try and support Rob for his own event.

If 10 of you purchase tickets in advance, then you can have a club stand, and if required we can supply club banners if you need these.

This was a great meet.
I can see it being much bigger next year,
Very lucky with the weather and the venue did not turn into a quagmire.
Very impressive how many south coast one make clubs turned up.
Hats off to Rob Edwards for organising this event.
It\'s lots of work and worry.

Looks like a good day out, some nice cars there. Was it literally just a load of clubs parked in a field and you just wander around beaking at stuff? Sometimes that\'s quite a nice alternative to noise and hecticness (?) of the bigger shows

It was just like that. Park up, watch as loads for people swam around Jo\'s car with big smiles on their face but trying to figure out what it is and then wander around, chat to people and enjoy the cars. Bit like Bromley and JAE. Nice and relaxed :D

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Nice to see you again Martin, Adam, Jo if only very briefly but it was one of the busiest days I\'ve had in my life. I missed you Bob but did spot the car!

I put a massive amount of work into the day (basically the last 6 months!) and it worked out very well with no major issues so I am over the moon!

After a tally up today I know there were about 1600 people in attendance and roughly 700 cars so a pretty good turn out for a first time show!

I\'m 99% sure it\'ll be back next year bigger and better and I hope that it\'ll have a bit more support from the rotary community!

Cheers,
Rob. :)

Quote from: Ada7;631663Cheers Nik. Was a lucky shot really as just to the right of the Fd was a the queue for the Dyno but it looks like its really quite from that picture :D
It was just like that. Park up, watch as loads for people swam around Jo\'s car with big smiles on their face but trying to figure out what it is and then wander around, chat to people and enjoy the cars. Bit like Bromley and JAE. Nice and relaxed :D

Adam

It was a really good day. :D  Like that kind of show where u can just chill out and see other people\'s cars!!

Yep Ralph and Rex both got lots of attention :D  I am still quite traumatised at the fact someone thought Ralph was a celica though!!!!! :o
