Are the USB drivers installed on your laptop? It has to install drivers so that it can mimic a serial port sufficiently. Apparently, some USB cables don\'t work very well.

Just been on the forum. It has a usb driver to download, so i will try that in the morning. How many wideband wires attach to the datalogit, my WB has about ten, and the logit 8 or so. Should be tuning my AFRs tomorrow. IF and a big IF i can get out my current map.!!!!!!!!!!!an paste the new one in. I think there will be more problems, so close so close.

This same issue happened on a Friend\'s PFC, and it was down to some sort issue with the ECU itself...

Im looking for an old laptop with a serial port on it to get the map on. I have tried to get the serial to usb working but its just not poss. As it stands my sisters desktop pc is in the car awaiting a female to female serial converter which i should get tomorrow. At least i should be able to get the map on then until i find an old laptop then i can do the AFRs.

HE HE.

IN the rain on my drive sitting on my sisters desktop PC mapping the car lol. the serial cable worked instantly after spending hours trying with a usb. I hit read all from the PFC saved the map under a name then opened your map and hit write all. Done.

Double checked all was ok then i took it out for a spin. I boosted it up to .5 bar and bloody hell its quick!!

When my laptop arrives ill check the AFRs then ill try slowly build up the boost until im happy all is well. I doubt i will need to make much of a change but its best be safe than sorry.

2 things ive noticed about the setup is that when it comes on boost the car sounds 20 times more evil than ever before. Like an incredible rasping sound (is this the wastegate)

Also if i redline the car and let off the throttle in neutral a huge fireball blows out the exhaust. I hope this is within the law?

we like fireballs lol
yep tune it nice and slow increasing in small increments of boost and use the ghost trace facilty to see what cells are hit on boost

Cheers for the map blitz.

I will be doing some reading on the topic this weekend, I noticed yesterday i could not get the watch functions to work, they all displayed 0.

Also my profec b boost controller, does not seem to do anything at all no matter how i fiddle with the knobs. it might be the jumper settings on the back?

when changing settings on the profec, eg increasing duty percentage, is done by twisting the right hand knob you will see the value flash as you increase it to commit the change you "press" in the knob, only change this by a couple increments at a time, you don not want to overboost

Did you setup the COM port in Datalogit? You need to assign it (fe. Com7)

Then find out which port is Com7 on your laptop and it should work
