Title: 8j Et12
Post by: topi on May 06, 2009, 06:37:10 PM
How would an 8j ET12 wheel sit on the FD3S? Any pictures would be great :)

With a roll you\'ll be good to go with something like a 205 on the rear. A 9j ET18 will tuck, which is about the same unless my maths is really on the .......
:

On the front you might have issues.
This is an 8j et8

More camber and a narrower tyre (that\'s a 235) may just tuck under.

Wheels:
17x9.5” E.T.12 rota torques in gun metal with brand new Bridgestone Potenza’s costing £500
225/45/17F
235/45/17R = stretch

not an 8j, but it gives you some idea

Cheers for that!

So if I go for some 16x8 et12s, and max out the coilys for slam - It should sit nicely I reckon

Fronts should be fine.  Rears will probably require the inner lip rolled for the type of slammage I think your after.

Should look good if you pull it off well.  Personally i wouldnt of gone for any less than 17\'s.  But i\'ve yet to see a properly low fd on 16\'s.  Suppose it\'ll be cheaper on tyres if you skid it too.

Mark Riccioni\'s Black FD (The one on Takata Rota\'s) is running 9.5j all round on totally stock bodywork, no rolls. Just 225\'s IIRC :)
And that\'s pretty low.

He has stated that the rears do rub thou and needs a roll.  What offset are the rota\'s?  There not as low as the et12 topi wants, are they?

rx7ben: You can get rota grid drift\'s from rarerims or driftworks.  Colour is customs though.

They are et12 IIRC, and having seen them, i can well beleive it :)

Topi\'s are 8j as well, so won\'t be extreme as that either :) if they are 10\'s on the rear of Mark\'s car the rears will be an inch further in for Topi.

As said, Rota\'s can be got from anywhere and everywhere, or you could get the originals if you are feeling flush ;)
