Title: Should boost be the same all through the revs?
Post by: rx7ben on May 06, 2009, 09:17:32 AM
Hi guys

As above should it be the same all the way threw the revs. I no it drops off when the second turbo comes into play but what im getting is about 0.8 bar of boost on the first turbo, then about 0.7 bar when the second one is at high revs. I can allso feel the car hesitate abit. Do i have a boost leak somewhere or maybe a broken solanoeid.

The boost should hold solid till redline/buzzer or further. Are you on the stock ecu?

It is unlikely to be a boost leak if you are getting 0.8bar on the primary.

My money is on boost creep, deffo if you are still on the standard POS ecu

it could be the turbos getting a bit weak, my primary hold more boost than my secondarys.

I thought that it was more common for the secondary to boost around 0.1 bar higher than the Primary?:xconfused

Im running Apexi power fc. Im getting 0.8 on the frist turbo then when the second one comes in it drops to 0.7 and then  as little as 0.6.  This cant be right somethings not right

On stock ecu I think it\'s common for the boost to drop off as you get closer to the red line. But on the PFC like Neil said it should hold solid, could be a knackered turbo pack?

This sounds like a knackered cat (if you are still running with one)

What does the power FC say on your boost settings, which map are you on? I have two boost maps 1= pri 0.7, sec 0.8 and 2= pri 0.8, sec 0.9. My defi boost gauge reads a little high (about +0.1) but stays constant when boost is on!
