Do you know where the pipes connect on a standard setup ? the pipe that connects by the throttlebody will be vaccum/boost and anything before turbo will be vaccum . have you got a vaccum nipple on your turbo cold side ? iirc you cant get a good vaccum from a air filter thats straight on the turbo, imo i would use a longer pipe to the turbo and T into that

on the standard setup they connect to pre-turbo as well

http://www.wrex-racing.com/docs/fd/vacuum_hose_diagram.jpg

it was a metal pipe which the filter was connected to before to get the vaccum source but do they really need to be connected to a vaccum??

What kind of filter are you running. If its got something between it and the filter then that should be ok. Not really sure what the japs run when they just have a mesh filter !!

still undecided, was going to use some flexi hosing down toward the front bumper.

maybe the japs just dump the omp and use premix. but what i would like to know is weather its a vaccum they need???

They just need fresh air, connect via a Tee piece to a small engine breather type filter.

AnderwRX7 explains well HERE (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55744&highlight=oil+injector+air+pipe)

:Thumbs-up  I also read somewhere that the breather pipes connect to the primery intake because of emisions, not exhauste emissions but general oil vapor to atmosphere emisions.if the oil injector needs to breath then it must send out  a bit of oil vapor, right?so mazda plumb the breather into the turbo intake to eliminate any oil  vapor......I might be wrong tho lol:D

So you could run a remote filter on it to keep it with a clean air supply.
