Right, quick query for y\'all
I have a Uk RX and rebuilt it over christmas and is running fine (touch wood)
I have rebuilt a couple of Import engines recently and noticed something different.
Basically on the exhaust ports on the block there are 2 smaller holes which seem to run through the block. I\'ve noticed on the Imports that the gaskets have one of these hole coverd and the other is open. While on my UK car both hols on both housings are covered by the gasket??
So basically wondering whats the difference? and what do the holes underneath the main exhaust port do?:3Confused
I noticed this on my FC LIM which has been filled over. When looking at Furbs rebuild thread I read he had done this to his manifold. I\'ll see if I can dig out the answer from his thread.......
If its the same thing im thinking of then :
Furb : EGR welded shut (that is why the 2nd rotor tends to run lean first, because the intake temp is lower then that of the 1st rotor!)

hmmmm prob related but i\'m on about the exhaust manifold rather than the LIM ??
Dont think i have a photo of my gaskets but i\'ll take one of an import engine and try to explain a little better :D
Doh! Sorry must not have read it properly :S
I know what you are on about and often wondered that myself as I did not know what gasket to buy but then when you put the manifold on it covers the holes anyway.
Picture of what i mean below, this is from an import engine, whereas my UK engine didn\'t have this hol (circled red) ??
