Title: Alloy Refurbishment
Post by: logicalChimp on April 28, 2009, 10:23:45 AM
Mornin folks

As part of getting the \'7 back on the road, I need to refurb my alloys (Mania Racing - 18" Vortex) as they are looking well and truly manky!

So - can anyone suggest somewhere decent in the south?

The alloys have a little bit of kerbing (but not much) and a fair bit of lacquer peel / discolouration.  Ideally i would be looking for them to be refurbed back to shiny chrome...

So - your suggestions please :Typing

I don\'t think anyone can refurb them to chrome, but they can be refurbed, I may be wrong though

Shadow in reading - If they can\'t fix there they have an external speciaist that does the work - mine went to the specialist and his work was perfect, thought was going to loose my rims and were save and returned to their former glory.

EDIT: mine are chrome and polished and were fine (3 piece split) but refurbed in tact.

(IIRC if the crome has not been totaly taken off the rim it can be polished - but if has flaked or broken off with damage they will need to be re-dipped)

I haven\'t had my wheels done yet but they were the only people to help with a replacement valve proplem. Very helpful and the wheels they are working on look good.
might be worth a check.
ps they quoted about £150 per wheel for 3 part split rim.
