Title: Limp home mode?
Post by: ro284 on April 24, 2009, 10:22:59 AM
Just getting the car ready for m.o.t. on saturday, only done 1100 miles since the last one, gave it a run, i\'d just stopped at lights, pulled away and no power over 2-2.5k revs :eek so straight away thought it\'s in limp mode and must be omp, the car was perfectly driveable but not good above 2k! anyway drove home and fitted my Apexi, drove it, went like a rocket again! no problems at all, is there any other reason for limp mode cutting in driving round town? i will fit the original ecu back on for mot as my Apexi\'s not mapped as yet, and i know everything else is as it passed last year, how much does a used omp cost? i have always run on premix so no problem there, Any advice much appreciated,
Cheers Bob

Try Tim at RX motors. Mine was not too expensive. Pig of a job with twin turbos though, so be sure that it is the OMP thats caused it!

Thanks Keith, i do need to check thats what it is, no sign of any problem with the Apexi fitted, will do a diagnostics check later, if that shows nothing i will connect another omp before fitting it just to make sure, Off to get mot now, running in limp mode with premix, difficult to drive with fingers crossed!but hoping for the trip tomorrow!
