Title: Coilover knock
Post by: TiddlesRX7 on April 18, 2009, 08:01:55 PM
Since installing my coilovers on my FC I get a strange Knock/ding type noise when I turn the car on full lock either way. It only does it at really slow speeds or when stationary. It sounds a bit like a spring or both springs slipping round or something. Anyway I had the car alighned correctly after I fitted the suspension but as I am new to coilovers I thought I\'d best ask about the noise. Any ideas peeps?

After lubing up the spring seat cups I am still getting the noise but not as bad. Upon further inspection (getting a fellow member on here to have a look!) it apears that the nut at the top of the pillow ball is too tight and is causing the bearing to nip up and not turn freely. Looks like it should be an easy fix if I can slacken the nuts off. There just so bloody tight!

Well I got chance to have a look at nuts on top of the pillowballs. Managed to get them loosened ok in the end. Re-tightened them just over finger tight and it seems to have done the trick. No annoying knocks or creaks. I\'m so pleased.
