I\'ve heard stories about how rare these units are but I\'m in need of one asap..
can anyone give me some ideas other than hunting Ebay on where to find one? import or uk i don\'t care.
what about prices? someone know the average, or what they bought theirs for etc?
cheers
phil
again..
sales@jdm-racing.co.uk
they are rare even in jap.. most crashed cars.. the parts go to oz as they have a wider audience there than other parts of the world.
my mate can find for u then ur looking about 600ukp with current exchange rate.. thats a rough guess..
else maybe oz ebay.
if u dunt mind paying more then i think ebay (jps trading) may still have one about.
bump.. can anyone else source one?
no but I have a jap tuned ECU that would suit your needs, tuned for FMIC,exhaust, intake etc. It does add more oil for lube at the higher revs and was intended for race use. it will be a dam sight cheaper than a PFC and yet still offer better tuning than standard but obviously all the values are set.
if you wanted a true standalone then there are other cheaper options than a Apexi.
You are more than welcome to try the ECU if you wish, see how it fairs with your style of driving !! it gets rid of fuel cut, raises boost a bit and gets rid of rev limit. This is not a cheap ebay chip but one chipped from Japan. Trouble is going the chipped ECU route you ideally will want a wideband to see if its not going lean at all. More important for you as your car is WOT all the time.
I am in Cyprus at present working but hopefully will be home by Monday, I can always post it to you when i get back and see if it makes a difference but i would seriously consider having the whole car tuned whichever way you go for safe guarding your engine.
My friend can get one for you but with the exchange rate you are looking at £750... but that is a brand new boxed
It is also possible to run an early FD power FC, you\'ll need a few FD bits though like the intake manifold (i think). Not sure weather it will work out cheaper, but im guessing the FD manifold flows more than the FC one so that would be a few more powers :D
u need fd 8 bit pfc... still rare also (i think)
dont need fd uim.. DtheB, think u getting it mixed up with the MAF. might need to change that but think can just change ecu.
hows about using emanage or f-con pro?
rzla: brand new box? u sure? they stop making them ages ago... well the AP Eng ones neways.. :)
These guys on Ebay have a couple in stock:

Got one listed without commander as well...
for the 8 bit ECU\'s you will need the patch harness and FD igniter and a few other bits.

What about going HKS F-Con V PRO Phil. Jay still has one from the FC we broke and comes with FC wiring harness all for only £500!!! REWORX are the authorised mappers for it as well. Better ECU than the Apexi and probably cheaper too.

Martin
thanks for all the suggestions.
I have an FD engine, and an FD PowerFC solution being sorted atm. Lots of wiring issues it seems... The car is in good hands though!
aai-racing.com
company in taiwan. not much on their website but saw in mag they got pfc\'s starting from 500ukp.
best to email them
I saw JPS had another AP Engineering special edition unit for sale on ebay.
I read they are just modified 3rd gen power fcs with a harness.. but the one currently for sale comes with a pressure senor :xconfused
I was under the impression if you have a boost controller then the ECU and harness was all you needed. Or am i missing something?
see the banzai site as listed previously and that details what you need. A 3 bar pressure sensor is a dam better than stock.
Ap engineering one is the one to go for.
Can\'t believe how expensive they are now, but would probably buy from the UK seller than in Japan, save on Customs!
Last time I bought from JPS direct got a hefty customs charge 2 weeks later!
And it was marked as no commercial value...
Ah yea pd you are correct.. sorry i am being dumb! :yes
Like i said the AP Engineering ones are just modified 3rd gen units, so obviously they will need the FD map and iat sensors to work! :Hammer theres just no need to do the trailing coil part of the banzai guide since thats the bit AP have modified
