Title: Whats the cheapest way of going V-Mount ?
Post by: gmogle on April 11, 2009, 08:42:19 AM
Hi Guys,

With the summer on its way and some nice warm temperatures today it got me thinking about V Mount kits.

Whats the cheapest way of doing one ? Buying it ? I notice a few places sell them for around the grand mark but can they be made for cheaper ?

Has anyone made any ? What bits did they use etc ? Any pics ?

Cheers,
Gareth

there is many people on here that have made their own v mount system, im in the middle of making mine at the moment, just waiting for the rad to be welded up and there will be some more pictures in my rebuild thread.

have a search around and you will find all the info you need.

I have heard that some people are using the XS power front mount or side mount kit and using it as a V mount kit by just changing the pipework

What temps are you getting in the v mount setup, i have a xs too, mounted as a front mount but on a slant ,but am thinking of doing the same as yours looks great , mine is  giving me about 28c on motoway, and never over 41c in standing traffic.
