hello,
does anyone know if there are books out there on the fd rx-7?
i would love to sit down and read a book about the principles behind how all the actuators and solenoids work on the turbos, and it would mean a lot less phone calls to ross at dragon!!
cheers, james
The Brian Long book isn\'t a bad read, but it doesn\'t go into huge detail on the engine ancillaries.
The Field Service Manuals are good for detail like that - but they leave out almost as much as they have in.
Have a look on Ebay as there are quite a few kicking around on there from time to time. I have about 4 books on RX7\'s but not all dedicated to the FD and cover most types.
I got this one off ebay it covers all rx7\'s its a really good book

thanks guys! that gives me something to look into, the brian long one looks good, as long as it helps me to learn more then i will give it a read!
One good way to learn more is to download the service manual for all the technical stuff, the books although full of facts and data and are extremely useful they are really all about the history of the cars. I downloaded mine and then printed it all off at work, think in the region of 1200 pages so dont do this at home!!
I have quite a few hyper REV books and various other fd based books manuals which i got from japan but its hard going with everything in japanese.
I talked to the guy in super autobacs and he said there are some very good and informative US books and gave me a leaflet so ill have scoot round for it.
where do i go to download the service manual??
You can get them here off the rotaryart site.

Sometimes the full workshop manual comes up for sale in the states, i have it along with the wiring diagram book.
I got a full workshop manual for UK models from eBay, they do pop up every so often. Seen them go for silly money, like fifty quid and that ! The one I bought was well cheap in comparison, I think I was the only bidder. Couldn\'t work out why until I realised the guy had listed it under "windscreen wipers" :rollinIt lives by the bog for a bit of light reading, but it\'s about the size of a telephone directory so I\'ve a fair way to go yet in five-minute installments :rollin
I downloaded mine off the rotaryart site for free then printered them off took a long time but well worth it. Its like havin war and peace on your knee makes light a lot easier for stripping down parts of the car.
