Title: Intake Hardpipes
Post by: najiru on April 07, 2009, 07:15:27 AM
Had a search but am struggling.

Anyone know where I can get some hardpipes for the stock airbox to the turbos? Have seen them fitted but can\'t find where to buy them.

Cheers

I\'ve had two sets of these (don\'t ask, one got mullered!) and they\'re cheapy chips, nice and shiny and all that. The bottom/front turbo pipe doesnt have quite enough of a bend in it, though, so you may struggle to get it to line up with the union on the standard airbox. It\'s ok with pod filters where you\'ve got a bit of adjustment in the bracketry, but the silicone joiners alone may not give enough leeway to match the airbox. However, for the price it may be worth giving them a go, you won\'t lose too much if it doesnt work out, and \'m sure you could sell em on afterwards to someone with pod filters

i\'ve got these and there\'s no way to get the lower one onto the airbox without breaking the grinder out (needless to say i took too much off the lower pipe and had to bin it!).

That\'s spot on what I was after Nik!

Will bear in mind some trimming may be required.

Thanks guys :D

No worries. I thought they\'d be a bit dodgy for the stock box. I had an ARC alloy airbox on the last FD, and it did, as jackaleks said, take a fair bit of trimming to get the bottom/front one to line up, so figured it\'d be the same on the standard box. (Nearly said front/bottom then, but thats something altogether different and there may be ladies reading :Giggle)

I\'ve got a set of these, that I don\'t need anymore (gone single so don\'t need them)

You can have them for £15 if you want.

Top!

They in good nick etc, ie still fairly nice and polished?

Also I presume these have already been trimmed as per the above comments?

£15 delivered ;)

Drop me a pm....

Hi Najiru,

I\'ve attached a couple of pics. Sorry, I was being rubbish and couldn\'t attach them to a PM

Anyway, one side is pretty shiny, the other side of pipes is a bit scratched and the one for the primary looks as if a something has rubbed against it. Anyway, I think they would polish up okay, but the main bit that people will see is pretty good.
