Title: Clutch problem
Post by: Morrmat on April 02, 2009, 04:54:39 PM
My clutch seems to stick to the floor of my car, it used to occur very rarely, but it now happens every time i drive the car!!

Does anyone have any ideas as to what it is?

Clutch Master or Slave cylinder , the seals perish over time and the springs sometimes loose their tension

Master or slave cylinder fault im guessing, one of the seal will have gone so instead of working the clutch it will just leak fluid.

you dont lol you need to take them both off and check em, the slave is quite easy to take off, the master is bit of pig as you have to get into the drivers footwell and have bendy arms to undo the nuts and disconnect the rod lol
but its not technically hard

Check the clutch flexi pipe at the back of the engine as well, i used to have a very minor leak on my car that only very occasionally left my clutch on the floor, it gradually got worse till it popped and left me stranded.
