Post by: colin5524 on March 31, 2009, 09:28:20 PM
Is there anywhere or one who does repair panels instead of me having to shape them. Im doing the sills next time am home (week and a half away :Grrr ) and could cut them out but if anyone did floor pans would be so much quicker.Cheers..........i fear there will be no luck though :(

Ask Grinder, I think he replaced the whole floorpan of his FC lol I just had my sills done, there are no panels it seems :( I was lucky as my FC has basically no rust, which is why I bought it lol good luck though! I think someone managed to ask Mazda japan to make a roof for their FC as the jap spec cars don\'t have sunroofs, might be an idea to chat with mazda as they might be able to ship bits over that can be made from the original presses etc.

I spoke to my local Mazda dealer about a year ago and at that time sills were available from Mazda (for a cab) but was told it may take a few days to get them. (I think they were held in a central stores in Germany? - or I might be going mad).

Price drew a sharp intake of breath though - seem to recall £200+ per side!

My local car paintshop sells strips of metal for just those jobs and I am sure that any decent panel beater will knock something up in no time. Most ordinary garages are no good and may charge a small fortune, go to a specialist who by and large will be quicker and cheaper.
