Title: How do!
Post by: Mattyboi on March 31, 2009, 04:45:49 PM
Hi all:wave

About time i introduced myself, i`m matt, long time reader first time poster.

Just brought a UK FC Egi that needed abit of attention. Its a mint body but the last owner stripped the engine to do the normal vacume hose removal type mods and i`ve spend the last few weeks working in my spare time to put it back together again. Everything is abck together now, no emissions stuff, ditched the none essential throttle butterflys and knife edged the inlet to. Was supposed to be getting mot`d tomorrow but i snapped two bolts on the bloody cat when re fitting the exhaust so need to find a cure for that now.

I`m a regular on driftworks and had a fair few nissans drift cars and a nice lowrider datson to.

I`ll post up some pics when the FC its road worthy and i`ve stopped pulling my hair out over finding exhaust aparts lol!

awesome

Welcome to mrc, think ive seen your posts on driftworks here and there.

Good luck with the MOT, it is actually possible to pass emissions test with no emissions control on the car.

Mine did without any emissions at all, you can adjust the AFM but remember how many turns, I did mine on the fly and watched the CO come right down, well enough anyway.
Put some of the best octane fuel you can get,it does help quite a bit.
Back on topic, welcome to the Forum and nice to see some more FC owners out there, we are growing to be quite a large family. Pics of the car is an almost certainty and there are loads of people who have been there, done it and swore never to do it again but have, time and time again.  Plenty of expert knowledge on here which is essential for most of us one way or another.

i didn\'t do it myself. I tried it and failed big time :P

But lots of things like new plugs and air filter, maybe a cone filter if you have one, high octane petrol, give the car a few blasts. And then maybe play with the afm, though i tried this and couldn\'t tell weather i was making it run richer or leaner. After the test i realized i had made it run lean.

Cheers for the welcome guys!

Fingers crossed i\'ve got a plan for the exhaust but i might make the emissions testa ball ache lol!
