Title: Update on my FC
Post by: Retro_Boy_G on March 30, 2009, 10:21:07 PM
Well, i got my car back from Craig about 2 weeks ago. Me and James have been working away on it since she came home.. I don\'t have any pictures apart from the front splitter we fitted. So far we have fitted a front and rear brace strut, lowered it on it\'s ass, new steering wheel, front splitter, ripped the back out completely, new wheels nuts and stickered her up a bit.. Just need to clean up and fit my TII seats and door cards and we are jamming. She needs a right good clean inside and out and the alternator replaced also.. biggest problem i am facing is she came back with no side indiactors and the front ones disconnected and the cables fell right into the engine bay and completely out of sight.. :( still have no idea at all how we are going to sort that one. If anyone has any ideas let me know!

Anyways, I\'ll use this thread to post up new pics..

It\'s not much but here are some with the front splitter fitted.

Lookin good Gianni. I\'m sure you\'ll sort out your indicator problem don\'t worry about it.

Cheers Ade!

I hope I do get it sorted.. but I have no idea how as it seems the cables have fell back right into the side arches to some extent. As for the side ones I have one on but the other has no bulb and it\'s hard enough trying to feed the cable up to the holes on the side never mind having to fit a bulb also! :(

Well if you can get to the wires underneath, then feed a wire through the hole for the indicator to sit in. Atatch the indicator wire/plug to the wire you just fed through the hole with some tape. Then gently pull it all back through to the hole.

I like that a lot :yes

The black bonnet and the stack on the windscreen make it look like a jap street racer :Thumbs-up

Cheers dude. That is the kinda look I\'m going for.. I\'ll get some side shots when I take her out sometime on flat ground.. Hate taking shots of cars on my drive because of the slope. If it\'s a nice day tomorrow then I\'m taking her over to get the alternator fitted and hopefully get the indicators sorted. I know it will waste the front but i also need to sort out a front reg plate.. :( I\'m going for a 13x7 road legal one though.. Centre or off centre? I think off centre but I\'m not sure.

Need to fit my JDM y0 wind deflectors also! haha..

id deff say off centre, idealy behind the windscreen, but someone cover that with stickers :hammer

looking good! now dump an n/a 3 rotor in it and be gone :D
Title: Update on my FC
Post by: Retro_Boy_G on March 31, 2009, 01:18:42 PM
I\'d love to put it on my windscreen but I\'m sure by law the front reg plate has to be in front of the front wheels meaning it would be illegal to do it.. Thinking of getting an FC3s Jap plate made up on eBay and putting it in the windscreen.

Speak to Mazda and get the proper FC number plate holder - its moulded plastic, get it sprayed to match and it will look good :yes

Looks great BTW :D

Well, finally got my indicators all working! yey.. Cleaned my seats last night and they will be going in tonight.. once they are in it\'s time to clean the hell out of the car inside and out as it\'s a bit dirty..

Well guys, it\'s been a long time coming.. apart from the seats and dirt this is how i have always wanted my FC to look..

Enjoy!

deffo the best looking EGI\'s in the country, maybe one of the best FC\'s.

Though (sorry to be critical :P) the back looks like it could go down a bit more, or maybe bring the front up. And it needs some spacers.

Though it looks miiiiiiiillllless better than either of mine, nice one :D

Cheers James, that means a lot to me :)

The back end is as low as the coils will let it go unfortunately.. i\'ll just need to put some weights in the boot i think! haha..

Looks like an OMP Corsica. It is lovely, I do love dished steering wheels :cool :mmmm

Car is looking great btw, maybe a little spacer on the rears? then it would be spot on :)
Title: Update on my FC
Post by: Retro_Boy_G on April 02, 2009, 09:05:59 PM
It\'s an OMP i got from eBay.. could be a copy but the quality is outstanding.. I dunno why but i used to hate the dished suede wheels.. but kinda fell in love with them over night.. i\'m glad the old one is off.. you get a much better grip with the suede.. and you NEED it when you have no power steering! haha..

There are 5mm spacers all round.. i did think of bigger but i\'m quite happy with how they sit.

Nice car mate, well done on it all, always partial to a white FC.  Only just read your thread but i do have a pair of UK indicators with leads if you need them, plug straight in.  The clear ones do look pretty good against the white and matches the front end. The UK ones are quite orange which may not be your look, especially against white.

Post by: Retro_Boy_G on April 02, 2009, 10:07:58 PM
Thanks Pete! I managed to get all the indictors working thanks. A guy at National Tyres sorted it out for me.. he is a legend! :) I have taken the little orange lense off the front indiactors and i\'m going to pick up a set of orange bulbs for it as the orange lense covers look horrible on my colour scheme.
Title: Update on my FC
Post by: pdtaylor18 on April 02, 2009, 10:18:35 PM
Thats what I did to a set, they come off easier enough with some pliers, just break them off in little pieces, quite hard to get the bits where it was glued down but it will not show. makes a difference.  Had to laugh as i saw a set of the supposedly clear fronts on US Ebay but they had just been modded!! wanted a fortune for them!!
I did however go back to the orange lenses as it suited my car. It did look good either way though.

Cheers man! Yeah, the wheels need a GOOD seeing to. There is loads of bits of paint and stuff all over them. As soon as the car is complete it will be getting a good valet.

my s13 used to do this but it was just the pedal assembly where it connects too the clutch master cylinder
Title: Update on my FC
Post by: Retro_Boy_G on May 12, 2009, 06:59:03 PM
See, i kinda thought it might have been this as i felt the pedal move a bit.. i actually hope it\'s something as simple as this.
Title: Update on my FC
Post by: dthebuk on May 12, 2009, 07:16:49 PM
If you could feel something from the transmission, then it would have to be clocking/vibrating pretty hard. (i know you\'re thinking of something dirty mr g)

The fact that its in the pedal points to the master cylinder, which is a lot more simple than it at first sounds :D
