Title: quick question
Post by: gandyRX on March 29, 2009, 04:38:08 PM
went out for a quick spin in my mates fd today was just crusing along, then went to overtake a car, dropped it into 3rd then for about 2 seconds the heat light came on, its the one with the cat symbol in it, so we pulled in crused along again and all was ok, waited till the road was clear dropped it into 3rd again then boosted for abit, the light didnt come back on and everything was running fine

just wondered why the light come on? its got a de cat and has been remapped, it dosent boost anymore than 1bar but it was poppin and cracklin slightly more than usual, i said to my mate it was probably just a faulty sensor

what do you guys think?

Did you check the peak knock figure?

it peaked at 25, it normally runs at that figure or less, on a bumpy road it can go up to 40! temperature stays at 82-83, was i right in telling him not to worry?

If it flashed then I wouldn\'t be so worried, but 2 seconds is actually a long time for it to be registering a knock I\'d have though :S

Plus standard knock sensors are crap. People i know hit knock off over 100 on an PFC coz the sensors are knackered.

Is it aftermarket ECU thats been mapped ie Mines etc or proper ecu ie PFC etc?
