Title: Ongoing problems and advice
Post by: Gman on April 11, 2004, 01:06:24 PM
This is my engine, where the smaller circle is i have a colapsed pipe and the black plastic box under the strut bar isnt connected as it should (going to look at these tomorrow)  i think this could cause no boost.

But the thing i need to know is imagine the black thing in the bigger circle was not there, i have a hole that used to be covered going into the intercooler.  When the fan goes on it blows hot air up that gets sucked into the intercooler.  Would this casue low boost?

Might be good idea to get upgraded intercooler/radiator for better cooling?? and possibly change the piping for a hard pipe system.

I say this as i know you attend many 1/4 mile runs and so forth.

Try contacting Ross at //www.dragonperformance.co.uk he knows much about gearing cars up for such events.

Goodluck, sorry didn\'t get change to hook up in Brum.

Don\'t remember you having the black plastic bit on there before?!

I was looking at the Knightsports air intake as it\'s a sealed unit it doesn\'t suck the hot air from the engine. Need to duct the cool air in from your front grill (or headlight if you get the intake version) into your intakes without contamination from the underhood temps for best performance.

Been looking at a new intercooler/rad and hardpipe kit but I think I\'m gonna need better fuelling to keep it all together! Maybe it\'s best to stick to the stock setup!

Arghh! Can I not do some improvements to the car without it costing £££!!:reallymad

Another Sunday of joyful tinkering!:D

Erm.. Sorry to hijack ya thread with my murmerings!!
