Title: Help! Clutch question on the 20b FD ??
Post by: antnicuk on March 27, 2009, 08:03:37 PM
We had an issue with the pull type clutch in the 20b FD after its rebuild, the grab ring in the centre of the cover (exedy twin plate) was knackered and kept popping out so we spent the day taking the gearbox out to refit a new one, which isnt easy as the engine is 6 inches further back so seperating the gearbox is a b1tch

Anyway got it back in and together and drove it for the first time in 2 years. The clutch biting point is still very close to the floor, too close, and it makes it difficult to get in gear. We have bled the clutch several times.

My question is, will a longer rod in the slave cylinder to the clutch fork raise the biting point? if not, what can we do to resolve it? just to add, the whole system worked fine before the engine popped and none of that has changed.
