Post by: lee mills on March 21, 2009, 07:55:01 PM
Started stripping the car today removed pretty much everything except for dash. my question is is there any easy way to remove the sound deadening or is it just a question of shed loads of elbow grease. any help appreciated
Thanks

I have been doing mine today. I just used a hammer and flathead screwdriver, then a wire brush in a drill to clean it all up.

i just used a hammer and an old chisel - just dont hit it too hard - you might end up finding rust that you didnt expect ;)

Not to put a downer on your work but the front half of the car was sooooo much harder to do its unreal. It has taken me a full day to get it all out/cleaned up.  Starting to paint it now though :Giggle

I found once you chipped it away its good to use a solvent and rag to wipe the residue away.  I tried white spirit and it just melted what was left and cleaned up a treat :)
