Title: UK FC part sourcing Frustration..
Post by: FlikstRR on March 18, 2009, 03:45:46 AM
OK..

I knew this was going to be a battle but im getting REAALLY tired of not being able to find FC parts in the UK..:2Mad
..but at the same time.. finding a decent USA or Jap stockist that I can buy from online is proving just as hard...

My shopping list:
- Mazda open ended wheel nuts (ASAP)!!
- Front strut bar (few offers on here but nothing as of yet)
- Rear camber arms (cant believe you cant change this as standard!)
- Solid Diff Mounts
- anything to stiffen up the arse a bit and stop the mental banging!
- FC Roof spoiler

Im sure theres more.. but you get my point!:Grrr

can somone PLEASE list:
some places in the US they have bought from
places that import from jap OTHER than RHDjapan who have stupid pricing.
maybe from other places?? Euro/AUS/NZ etc?

Thanks

I got a set of really stiff mounts for the diff gearbox and engine, although the gearbox ones got swapped back for the rubbers as the cabin noise was just mental.

Got them off eBay - about £27 notes all in

As for the wheel nuts - any Mazda nuts are likely to fit provided they are the same thread/pitch - I used a locking wheel nut set intended for an RX8, but the MX5 ones also fit.  Try to keep your searches broader - as the FC specific items are few in number now.

can you link me to the seller with GB and diff mounts.. cabin noise is not an issue in a stripped out skid car. :D

also the nuts need to be open ended so they can be used with spacers etc..
but good to know rx8 and mx5 are same pitch/fitment. :)

Who have you spoken to (companies) to try and get the parts?

theres a guy im currently using for strut bars, coilovers and an avc-r
he imports stuff from japan at what seems to me to be a very reasonable price.

send him an email with a list and see what he can do :D

jdmracin {at} jdm-racing {dot} co {dot} uk

he was able to give me a decent choice in coil overs fairly quickly, at a fairly fixed price

I\'ll have to dig around and find the paperwork - I did have a trawl through ebay this morning - but nothing on there at the mo.  They came from US if I remember correctly - was 3 sets of mounts as one kit.

Yep it is frustratingly difficult to source FC parts :2Rolleyes especially if you\'re a jdm whore like me :). Most UK places i\'ve phoned don\'t actually bother stocking anything since they only sell FC parts once in a blue moon :Grrr

I don\'t suppose DW have any of these in stock? http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/products/tein-performance-bar-strut-brace.html

or theres some on the bay: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38.l1313&_nkw=fc3s+strut+brace&_sacat=See-All-Categories

Always worth giving James at jm-garage a call. He was really helpful sourcing my hks cat-back.

Let me know if you find any good contacts, Im always on the lookout for stupidly overpriced jap branded parts :Giggle

Now reaaly sure i wanna pay 132+p&p for a tein one.. Im sure its amazing but thats still pretty high for what it is!.

I really want the front bar ep racing offer as it seems more supportive by looking at it, but i dont think they stock them, its only from a container.. and frankly i only need the front one.

My end up getting the ebay one..  somehow i missed that one.. just think it looks a bit \'thin\'

shall see. good links and info so far guys.

takes a month as ships dont travel very fast lol
if you say u want it quick im sure he can air fright it but will cost more if you dont mind the costs.
depends how much u willing to spend.
also slow due to getting decent price which is then passed onto everyone else :P

if you do then good luck with it :)
its not easy as not only finding fc\'s being breaking in jap but also u got to fight against the oz who usuallysweep everything up n they got the funds to pay higher prices =(

if you redrill the holes for the strut mount holes an FD strut brace will fit...just, and its strong as hell and cheap as chips.

Just came across this website, has anyone heard of it before?

http://www.ninjapower.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=fc3s&search_in_description=1&inc_subcat=1&x=0&y=0

they seem to have some rare fc parts, and the prices for some things are quite tempting

any more e-tailers or companies both stateside and japanland ..
im in desperate need of some suspension setup parts.

Peter barber drove my car in EDC at silverstone this weekend.
95pmh entry  on first run.
managed to beat top 16/ top 8 and  come 3rd overall!!!! in a borrowed car...

but it did show up some SERIOUS rear camber issues, meaning lack of grip etc. And a serious front toe-in issue and caster probs...

so i need to buy as much  tuning/adjustable stuff as possible.

cheers
