I have been looking for some wheels for a friend who is having a re A JGTC style kit put on his car. I have found some with a great offset and size for the rear but im sure the fronts are way too wide. what will happen to suspension components and steering parts if i add these wheels:
Front 18x11 -3 offset
Rear 18x12 -6 offset
Too wide!
You will get mid corner understeer with that wide a tyre!
Why do you need to go that wide?
We have almost finished our new front wishbones....they will be able to give you a wide look, but without needing to buy rather large wheels!
The rears...thats a different matter....but not sure if that offset will work!
the offset should be fine for the kit which is going on it but i didnt like the idea of going wider than 9.5" fronts really. Its just these wheels have come up secondhand at a good price but thought i would ask before going ahead and buying them.
I have pictures somewhere of JGT RX-7\'s from last year and they are on 10" wide with huge wheel spacers to increase track width,
They could actually be restricted by regulations, hence the spacers.
Not sure what make wheels you would have but I had a customer ask for 12" / 18" wide rear wheels (fronts were 9") and found that Volks etc do not make wheels that big, I had to go off to America to fulfill the order.
