Title: Finally finished.....
Post by: gyles18 on March 13, 2009, 05:25:38 PM
well after a lot of trouble, money, waiting....etc.....my car is nearly there.....

ive had her for about 2 and a half years now and after various troubles, 2 engine rebuilds etc she\'s practically there!
ive had a lot of patience with it but i feel its worth it now.....
ive still got a few bits missing. im waiting on an re-ameimya rear street diffuser, a mazdaspeed front upper strut brace and it also needs to be mapped (next friday)

my aim for the car was to turn it into a kind of gt car. i do a lot of travelling to the continent so i wanted something with a bit of power and not to outrageous.
i think ive finally done that. its a very lovely drive, fairly quiet when your just cruising and a lovely note when you put your foot down. rides well and doesnt leave you feeling to battered when you get out the other side!

id just like to add that all work was carried out by jason at super 7 auto\'s :)

Looking very nice bud, you must be a very happy bunny now!.
Can I ask on this pic why the pipe from the tubby to the I/C curves round the ast? I was wondering why you\'d not have a straight pipe to reduce lag?

Was going to ask that too :rollin
Does look nice. Like the matching carbon sill covers and side skirts.
Another thing i\'ve noticed is why do all owners of Fd\'s with sunroofs have to open them when taking pictures :p

ahh yeah, that annoys me a little bit too....but the reason for that is because the turbo sits to high..... so you cant fit a straight pipe because the bonnet wont shut. a couple of mili seconds lag doesnt bother me, its nutty enough :)

dont know the power......its getting mapped at wgt on friday next. they say they expect about 420 at the wheels with 1 bar of boost and all the supporting mods.....ill let you know when its done though.
im only going to run about 0.8 max as i cant afford for it to blow up again......

its a PWR one that i got from re-worx.....
works a treat (no pun intended :) )

Now I\'ve come to think on it i remember you mentioning the tiny gap you had between the bonnet and I/c when you collected the parts on the group buy.

Nice all round selection of mods and it\'s great when it all comes together.

What "sports cat" are you using by the way?

The cat looks interesting, are you using any alternative air pump or dosnt it need it.

Thanks

no,not running one. the car never had one when i bought it and now with the way the intercooler piping is it wont fit. it runs perfectly fine with out one day to day and with the back box it doesnt smell of petrol so badly. i had a trust full system and hks downpipe with out an air pump and the car use to give me a headache..... did sound lovely but 2 years like that....kinda had enough.....

What power atw did you get out of it when it was mapped. I am about to fit a 35/45 single and have about the same setup as you and pips mapping it.
